Farmers Workshop and founding of COP in Climate Smart Agriculture.

WORKSHOP: "Integrating farmers' knowledge and innovation in the climate change adaptation efforts of the agricultural sector of the Republic of Moldova"

The workshop was spent in the framework of the project "Integration of adaptation in the processes of planning processes to reduce vulnerability to climate change at the national level. and local level in the agricultural sector of the Republic of Moldova" financed by the Green Climate Fund and implemented by FAO on 25 October in Chisinau.

During the workshop farmers shared their innovative agricultural practices used in climate change adaptation in the agricultural sector and founded Climate Smart Agriculture Community of Practice. It was elected the chair of the Community and its board of directors. The Chair of the Community was elected Mr Veaceslav Ceornii. The workshop discussions were also attended by Ms Tanya Santivanez, Agriculture Officer, FAO Office for Europe and Central Asia, Ilona Gruenewald, programme manager in rural development and agriculture of EU Delegation to the Republic of Moldova and Mr Vasile Șarban, Secretary of State at the MAIA.

The Community of Practice in Climate Smart Agriculture will provide a network for

practitioners, civil society organisations, national policy makers and private sector to work together to find the best ways of implementation of climate change adaptation measures in the agricultural sector and to share best practices and success stories.
